On December 10th 2008 Adjugo organised a free conference “A taste of IT Governance: doing the right things right!”. We would like to thank all participants for their positive contribution to the success of this event.

Find on the right side of the page the notes related to the three topics presented to you during this evening:

  • Corporate Governance for IT – The new ISO38500 standard
  • Immediate benefits of Green-IT Governance: Saving money & the planet
  • Controlling and Governing the Project Portfolio
    • Program

      4.45pm Welcome and registration.
      5.10pm Introduction
      Thierry Holoffe, CEO ADJUGO.
5.20pm Corporate Governance for IT – The new ISO38500 standard.

Koen Brand Koen Brand, Steekbok Adviesgroep bv. Koen Brand works as a Senior Consultant and IT Auditor at Steenbok Adviesgroep in the Netherlands. He has been working in IT since 1974 and is a black belt trainer for COBIT.

In our countries the best known framework for IT Governance is COBIT, introduced by the American IT Audit Organisation ISACA. But since May 2008 there is a real ISO standard on this topic.

What is that standard about? Where does it come from and how does it relate to COBIT? What does it mean for you?

5.40pm Immediate benefits of Green-IT Governance: Saving money & the planet.

Corné de Graaf Corné de Graaf, ADJUGO. Corné de Graaf is Senior Manager at ADJUGO. He is specialized in IT Governance and IT process improvement based on best practice methodologies such as Val IT, ITIL and COBIT. He is also the main contributor to the development of the Green-IT Governance Methodology.

In a world where energy costs explode and climate change become a key concern, private and public companies are increasingly aware that they have to take up their responsibility. This also applies to IT. Up till now, IT has been perceived as being 'clean' and not an ‘energy-eater’. Management has come to realize that IT is not so cheap and environmentally friendly after all.

Green IT The pressure to diminish the energy costs and to lower the ecological footprint will have a major impact on IT departments, forcing them to re-think the way ICT is managed and governed. Fortunately, Green-IT Governance can be good IT…
6.00pm Controlling and Governing the Project Portfolio.

Marc de Goeij Marc de Goeij, Resilient. Marc de Goeij is a Business Consultant specialized in Strategy Development, Enterprise & Business Architecture, Project Portfolio Management and Business Process Improvement. He is an advocate of process-based performance improvement and controlled business transformation.

It is often difficult for an organization to continuously keep projects aligned with the organization goals and objectives. It requires understanding the best composition of the entire project portfolio for maximizing success, in order to make the right project “go-no go” decisions based on understanding the impact on the whole.

The biggest challenge here is complexity, since many parameters influence each other and the overall portfolio performance. Implementing a true Project Portfolio Management process and supporting tool is your only chance for success

      6.20pm Drinks, music and tapas.

      Audience

This free conference is especially designed for anyone involved in the management of ICT, on the development, implementation or operational side: CIOs, ICT Managers, Project and Program Managers, Process Consultants, Quality Managers, Change Managers, IT Auditors and Governance Specialists.
