Risk management

The Octant risk management module is directed towards assessing, monitoring and mitigating (to an acceptable level) risks. Project risk management focuses on what can go wrong in any kind of project, whether it's IT or not. Financial risk management focuses on risks that can be managed using traded financial instruments. The process is the same for any kind of risk management: it's based on probabilities, severity of consequences (impact), and action plans to mitigate the risk.

The use of what-if techniques will allow the user to figure out what would happen in a given environment, and to evaluate the efficiency of various alternatives to mitigate or eliminate the risk. The end result will be a clear dashboard, showing the status of the project or portfolio.
