ROI calculation

The Octant ROI calculation module helps organizations to calculate and manage the return of investments (ROI) and related financial metrics. Among them is the payback period, Break Even Time and the Net Present Value (NPV), . The NPV is the main metric for providing an accurate estimate of all present and future costs and benefits resulting from an investment.

Some calculations might become quite complex when calculating them in practice. This complexity is handled by the tool as a black box, and the gauges will tell us if this investment is worth it or not.

It is very often useful (and sometimes the only practical way) to determine another aspect of the return on investment: non-financial returns that can hardly be measured using a mathematical formula like the NPV one. In some cases, it is even the only way to determine a return on investment. The non-financial return will be evaluated using the scoring model method, based on a set of questions especially designed for the investment. As usual, common questions are offered in the default database and can be adjusted to better suit the company’s and the project’s profile.
