Description

The ANPR programme is part of the Federal Police Directorate of Police Information and ICT (DRI). DRI prepares policies and rules for information management and processing, develops the police information concept, and defines technical norms and standards. The directorate also implements information and communication systems. ANPR cameras recognise number plates and compare them with available information, including stolen or reported vehicles and access rights; police use them for road safety and judicial assignments, with average-speed enforcement also forming part of the camera network.

Within the Traffic workstream, you will mainly analyse Gatso Device Management, also called GDM or Speedmaster. The project must connect dynamic speed signs with fixed speed cameras. You will inventory the current server, camera infrastructure and software solutions and help design the future situation through reuse or different deployment of existing solutions and equipment. You will define processes and produce detailed technical and functional design documents for a smooth handover to the Run team.

You will structure findings with attention to feasibility, timing, budget and dependencies and work closely with project managers and internal and external stakeholders. The assignment also includes progress reporting, risk and quality management, knowledge transfer, and contributions to the long-term vision for the ANPR ecosystem. You will advise management and operational services and provide information for DPIAs and other analyses. This is a full-time hybrid assignment in a multidisciplinary team of internal and external staff, with at least two office days per week in Brussels.
