Description

FSMA is undertaking an office refurbishment project in Brussels and requires a technical project lead/project manager for the full construction phase. The consultant follows the project technically and operationally from preparation of the works through final acceptance. The role is strongly field-oriented and requires practical construction and site-monitoring experience. The consultant serves as the technical representative of the client on site.

The assignment covers progress and quality monitoring, site meetings, contractor coordination and verification that works comply with plans, specifications and agreed decisions. It also includes reading and analysing construction and execution plans, following contractor revisions and ensuring coordination between architecture, construction and special techniques. Technical or coordination problems must be identified and resolved, while planning and agreed actions are tracked. As-built plans and technical documents are followed throughout the project.

The consultant works across HVAC, electricity and lighting, fire detection and protection, access control, intrusion/security, and cabling or technical IT infrastructure without needing to be a specialist in every discipline. The role also follows demolition, partitions, doors, glazing, interior fit-out and the integration of technical systems, as well as changes and additional or reduced works. During provisional and final acceptance, the consultant follows reservations or defects through closure. The final handover of technical documentation and as-built plans must also be verified.
