Description

STIB-MIVB, as a public-transport planner and operator, is subject to the European NIS2 directive and must implement appropriate cybersecurity measures for data management and protection. In parallel, its Data strategy aims to strengthen the reliability, security and value of organisational data. The organisation wants pragmatic governance that improves data quality, documentation, accessibility and understanding. The Data Governance Specialist will help turn these objectives into an operational governance framework.

The mission's first and highest-priority axis is NIS2 compliance for critical data. Working closely with the DPO, CISO, Enterprise Architecture, Document Management Office, business teams and IT teams, the specialist will inventory, map and classify critical data and its flows and dependencies. The role will define data-management and protection requirements, ensure security, backup and restoration measures, and establish least-privilege access rules and access reviews. It also includes staff awareness, training, governance adoption and change-management support.

The second axis embeds data-governance principles into business and Data roadmap initiatives together with business teams and Data & Analytics. The specialist supports the Data Governance Officer by improving data quality, discoverability, accessibility and documentation and by maintaining governance roles, responsibilities and processes. The role also covers master data management, data lineage, data modelling and the selection, deployment and adoption of governance tools. The assignment is full time and hybrid in Brussels, with an expectation of two to three on-site days per week.
