Description
The Data Functional Analyst joins the NIHDI Data Office, the cornerstone of data-related activities within INAMI-RIZIV. The role sits in a multidisciplinary agile team with data engineers, reporting experts, project managers, data architects, data quality experts and AI specialists. The assignment focuses on turning business data needs into clear functional and technical specifications. The analyst also defines conceptual and logical data models that support reliable data products.
The consultant leads discussions with business Subject Matter Experts and analyzes business processes plus incoming and outgoing operational and analytics data flows. Business needs are translated into data and technical requirements, while data models are designed and validated with Data Architects. Functional designs are established with Data Governance, BI Technical Leads and SDO (ICT) teams. The role also coordinates with the DPO on GDPR and security compliance and ensures developed data products are tested.
The assignment combines hands-on data analysis with close stakeholder collaboration and business-user enablement. The environment uses the Microsoft on-premise stack, including SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS and Power BI, with Azure Databricks experience considered an advantage. The position is full-time and hybrid in Brussels, with teleworking possible three days per week and at least two office days per week. General skills
- Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualification through experience.
- Minimum five years of professional experience in data functional analysis.
- Excellent speaking, reading and writing communication skills.
- Professional mastery of French at B2+ minimum.
- Professional mastery of Dutch at B2+ minimum.
- Active knowledge of English.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Strong conceptual and business understanding.

- Confirmed-level data modelling skills.
- Confirmed-level SQL skills.
- Prior experience as a data engineer is a plus.
