Description

BNP Paribas Fortis is seeking an Expert Scrum Master for an external staff assignment in Brussels. The Scrum Master is the key reference for a project operating within an Agile framework and ensures that the project team understands and correctly applies Scrum. The role helps the team maximise project results while protecting it from internal and external distractions. The assignment runs from 17 August 2026 through 30 June 2027.

The Scrum Master sets up and facilitates Scrum ceremonies, schedules key methodology steps, and helps the project team overcome obstacles. The role supports the Product Owner with the Product Backlog and assists the team with delivery of the Definition of Done and Sprint Backlog. Capacity and velocity metrics are tracked to support planning and progress monitoring. Risk and issue management and reporting on Scrum deployment are also part of the assignment.

A major part of the role is coaching the project team toward effectiveness and gradual self-organisation. The Scrum Master acts as a servant leader with empathy, excellent communication skills, pragmatism, and a strong continuous-improvement mindset. The role encourages knowledge sharing, competence development, collaboration, autonomy, open feedback and trust. The successful consultant must have at least five years of relevant experience, expert Agile knowledge, relevant technical methodology knowledge, sound English and at least one local language.
