The Federal Police is developing an organization-wide Data Excellence initiative. Its goal is to manage data in a structured, transparent and sustainable way. This enables data to be used as effectively as possible for operational support, policymaking, reporting, innovation and artificial intelligence. The assignment specifically contributes to building the technical expertise required to support these ambitions.

The consultant supports the technical implementation of data management practices. Metadata, data quality, lineage and governance information must be integrated into the technical data environment. The wider initiative also includes a data governance framework, the definition of data domains and roles such as Data Owner and Data Steward. Metadata and data management processes are being developed while data and AI literacy is strengthened across the organization.

The assignment is carried out in a multidisciplinary team consisting of internal and external staff. The technical context includes data architecture, data engineering, governance platforms, databases and SQL, data quality, data platforms, scripting and automation. Azure, OpenMetadata and Purview are explicitly mentioned in the requested profile. The working arrangement is hybrid, with at least two days per week in the office depending on tasks and team agreements.
