Description
The Federal Police is developing a strategic vision for responsible artificial intelligence and encourages the development, testing and use of AI systems. Because AI introduces potential risks and legal and regulatory obligations, including those arising from the AI Act, specific processes must be followed. The Federal Police AI-Lab provides a controlled and secure environment in which AI applications can be developed, tested and validated before possible deployment. Its purpose is to enable safe, legal and ethical access to AI for operational and support activities.
As Senior PostgreSQL & AI Data Platform Engineer, you will design, manage and optimize database platforms supporting both traditional applications and AI solutions. You will establish a performant, secure and scalable data platform for generative AI, RAG and machine-learning solutions. Core activities include PostgreSQL platform management, database cluster installation and configuration, monitoring, performance analysis, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity. You will also implement high-availability solutions and optimize queries and indexes.
The assignment includes supporting AI data platforms and LLM workloads, configuring vector databases and supporting RAG architectures. You will work in a multidisciplinary team combining internal and external colleagues and collaborate with data scientists, architects and DevOps profiles. The position is full time at 40 hours per week and uses a hybrid model with at least two office days per week. The assignment runs through the end of 2026 and is indicated as extendable.
