Description
The ABIS programme is modernising the biometric identification capabilities of the Federal Judicial Police. It will replace the existing fingerprint capture and management system. It also aims to strengthen facial biometrics, improve search accuracy, and enhance processing quality. The initiative supports identity management needs across the integrated Belgian police.
The Senior Project Manager will coordinate internal and external application development for the programme. The scope includes a national digital photo library, fingerprint and facial expertise applications, interfaces with existing police systems, and biometric and photographic data migration. The role involves organising development teams, supervising integrations, and monitoring production releases. Close collaboration with technical architects and the functional project manager is essential.
The successful consultant will support the Program Manager in programme governance and delivery oversight. Responsibilities include coordinating external suppliers, consolidating schedules, and monitoring milestones, delays, and dependencies. The consultant will produce progress reports, indicators, and dashboards while contributing to quality assurance and public procurement acceptance procedures. The full-time assignment is based in Brussels with hybrid working and remote work permitted.
