Description

bpost is seeking a highly experienced Lead Architect to support its Cross-Border business unit in shaping and modernizing its technology landscape. The role focuses on defining scalable, secure, and future-proof architectures across logistics, transport, and digital services ecosystems. A key aspect of the mission is designing a modern data platform leveraging lakehouse and data mesh principles. The architect will also contribute to API-driven services and ecommerce integrations within a complex enterprise environment. This is a strategic role with high impact on business capabilities and technological direction.

The mission includes leading architecture initiatives, documenting the current landscape, and defining target reference architectures aligned with business needs. You will guide the adoption of microservices and product-centric models while supporting event-driven architecture initiatives using technologies such as Kafka. You will collaborate closely with product owners, developers, analysts, and external suppliers to ensure alignment and delivery. The role also involves reviewing technical designs and ensuring scalability, resilience, and consistency across domains.

In addition, you will contribute to governance and best practices by promoting standards for data security, API management, and architecture quality. You will stay up to date with innovations in cloud-native technologies and data platforms while influencing teams through vision and leadership. This role requires a strong combination of strategic thinking, technical depth, and stakeholder communication. It is ideal for a senior architect who thrives in complex, cross-functional environments and can drive transformation at scale.
