Description
i-mens is an independent care organization that provides care at home so people can remain as independent as possible in their familiar environment. It is looking for an experienced Senior ICT Project Manager to take responsibility for the preparation, steering and successful delivery of large and complex projects. The assignment is temporary through the end of 2026, pending the filling of an internal vacancy, with a possibility of extension. Interest in later joining i-mens as an employee is considered an advantage.
The Project Manager owns the complete project lifecycle, from initiation and structuring through execution, monitoring, adjustment and final delivery. The role translates strategic objectives into project objectives, scope, deliverables, milestones and executable plans while controlling timing, budget, quality, resources, dependencies and risks. It also establishes clear governance, aligns multidisciplinary teams and maintains coherence with other projects in close contact with the Program Manager. Steering committees and project meetings are facilitated to support efficient and well-informed decision-making.
Success requires strong stakeholder management, objective reporting and the ability to create structure without unnecessary bureaucracy. The consultant works with management, technical experts, project teams, sponsors, clients, partners, suppliers and other stakeholders, communicating transparently and creating support for decisions and change. The role requires at least ten years of relevant development-project leadership experience, including five years leading projects within large and complex programs. The work is full-time and hybrid, with Tuesday and Thursday as fixed office days in Zwijnaarde and possible travel elsewhere in Flanders and Brussels.

General skills
- Higher education at Bachelor or Master level with a technical or engineering background, or equivalent through relevant experience.
- Demonstrable experience in technical environments where complex projects and programs are delivered.
- Understanding of the dynamics and complexity of development projects and ability to collaborate smoothly with technical specialists and other disciplines.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience leading development projects, including ICT or software development projects.
- At least 5 years of experience leading projects within large and complex programs, portfolios or environments with multiple interdependencies.
- Extensive experience with multidisciplinary project teams, complex stakeholder structures and projects with multiple interdependencies.
- Experienced leader able to bring structure to complexity without creating bureaucracy.
- Strong analytical and strategic capability combined with a hands-on, results-oriented approach.
- Ability to prepare decisions, raise difficult matters and adjust projects when they risk deviating from objectives.
- Clear communication and ability to switch between technical specialists and senior management while aligning different interests around a shared result.
